Welcome to 101 Wine Press! We are located near Salinas, CA, in Prunedale. We are a locally-owned winery and restaurant. We produce the best pinot noir and chardonnay in wine country, as well as the best Santa Maria BBQ. Our mission is to bring you good food, great beer and wine, and provide a great atmosphere for you to enjoy with family and friends, whether it’s after a long day at work or on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Spending quality time with those you love is becoming lost in today’s world full of virtual friends, video games that offer alternative worlds, and Netflix shows, which has added the word “binge watching” to our daily vocabulary.

101 WINE PRESS’S MENU
Our appetizers are designed to give you just a flavor of our offerings, created with some of our best ingredients. We offer BBQ street tacos, which feature our signature Santa Maria BBQ or Tri-Tip steak. Served with an array of vegetables and flour tortillas, this appetizer is sure to get you ready for more.
Another one of 101 Wine Press’s amazing appetizers is our chili. Beans are the theme in our chili, and one bowl will pack a punch full of protein to get your brain going. Add on shredded cheese for a delectable delight.
We also offer amazing salad options as well for those looking for a lighter option. These are great lunch items, or make perfect complements to our main course menu. Choose from our Chicken or Tri-Tip Salad or Greek Salad, both of which come with melt-in-your-mouth garlic bread that will remind you of your grandmother’s dinners.
Our sandwiches are unique in the fact that they are all served on our homemade garlic bread. Choose again from our Tri-Tip, Chicken, or select sausages when available. Our sandwiches are a perfect balance of macronutrients that will give you energy and comfort as you enjoy time with friends and families.
101 Wine Press specializes in Santa Maria Open Pit BBQ. Santa Maria BBQ is a mainstay in the California culinary field. Originating in the Santa Maria Valley in central California, this method of BBQ-ing dates back to the mid-1800s. Traditionally, beef tri-tips are used (triangular cuts of beef from the bottom sirloin of a cow), in Santa Maria Style BBQ and seasoned with a variety of spices, including black pepper, salt, and garlic. After the Santa Maria Style BBQ has been seasoned, it’s cooked over a wood grill or smoker to allow the seasonings to imbibe every aspect of the beef. Santa Maria Style BBQ is nothing short of spectacular, and 101 Wine Press prides itself on ours.
Our meals with our Santa Maria Style BBQ come with a wide selection of sides that are perfect to complement the flavors found in BBQ, including beans, broccoli salad, pasta salad, garlic bread, or a house salad. In addition to our Tri-Tips, we also offer the choice of chicken or sausage in various selections of meal sizes, so you can customize to your hunger at the time.
101 WINE PRESS’S CHARDONNAY AND PINOT NOIRS
Of course, your meal would not be complete without a pairing of one of our wines or beer selections. We offer our own Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, available in one of our signature years. Try our own Chardonnay in our own special Sangria cocktail that is sure to go down smooth and rich.
Chardonnay is made from green-skinned grapes and makes a very flavorful white wine. Of course, the taste varies based on the region it is grown. However, in general, Chardonnay is a medium to light bodied-wine with acidity and flavors of green plum, apple, and pear. In warmer regions, you can get citrus, peach, and melon overtones as well. Chardonnay is a very dry wine, which explains why it’s so popular.
Pinot Noir is a red wine grape variety, mainly from the pinot noir grapes. These grapes are mainly grown in cooler regions and is notoriously hard to cultivate. Mostly light in color and medium-bodied, pinot noir wine has aromas of cherries, raspberries, and strawberries, making this wine a very fruit-filled flavor.
